HERITAGE
HIGHLANDS TENNIS ASSOCIATION
The HH Tennis Association is comprised of community
residents who are active tennis players or supporters of tennis activities
at Heritage. Officers are elected annually.
The Association has three primary
responsibilities: 1) Promote tennis
at Heritage Highlands, 2) Protection of the tennis facilities and assets,
and 3) Organize and oversee tennis activities.
The Tennis Association currently has 80 dues-paying members. Skill
levels range from new players just taking up the sport to advanced players.
Stay and Play guests, new and prospective residents, and guest of residents
are all welcome to participate in tennis play.
The community has four lighted, wind-screened tennis courts located
just northwest of the Clubhouse. The court surfaces are by Nova Pro, which
is a synthetic carpet filled to below the nap with an opaque sand material.
This surface provides a consistent bounce and is very easy of player’s legs
and feet.
A teaching pro is available during winter months for group or private
lessons, and a ball machine is available for member use.
Organized Tennis is scheduled throughout the year with women playing
on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and men playing on Tuesday,
Thursday and Saturday mornings. Sign-up sheets are posted at the tennis
courts. Tennis Coordinators for men and women match players of similar
playing ability and assign players to courts at specific times on the
designated days. Guidelines for Organized Tennis are posted on the Bulletin
Board at the tennis courts and also on this web site.
Other tennis activities include informal mixed doubles on Sunday
morning, interclub play with area tennis clubs, and an annual Spring Fling
social event.
The Tennis Association
welcomes new players and guests…
